Frequently Asked Questions

Below find some answers to common questions that we receive:

What is Notarization?

Notarization is the official fraud-deterrent process that assures the parties of a transaction that a document or a signature is authentic, and can be trusted..

What is a signing agent?

A signing agent is generally a public notary who is experienced and specializes in loan closing documents.  A lender, title company, or escrow service may seek the services of a signing agent to obtain necessary signatures, and in some cases deliver the documents to the client or borrower.  It is important to note that  signing agents are an impartial party to the transaction and are prohibited from giving legal advice or in any way interpreting the meaning of or altering the documents.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, since we are primarily a mobile notary service, you will need to make an appointment in advance of your signing in order to ensure a Notary will be available to see you. This also allows us to ensure we have all necessary documents in advance so that your appointment is as brief as possible for you.

Why do I need to bring proof of identity and proof of address?

As a Notary one of our fundamental duties is to properly identify our client(s). Although most states have adopted in part or in whole the identity requirements set forth by the Model Notary Act, it is always important to understand that  states have their own notary laws and rules.  Common accepted forms of identification are:

•   State-issued driver’s license
•   State-issued identification card
•   U.S. military identification card
•   U.S. passport
•   Resident alien identification card (green card)

How much will it cost?

The price will depend on the document(s) being Licensed and exactly what the notary is required to do.  Please note it will often be necessary to see the document(s) in advance in order for us to provide an accurate fee estimate.

Where do you provide your services?

We will meet you in a place that is convenient for you, whether it be your home, office or another public meeting place like a coffee shop.  Our notaries pride themselves on being prompt and prepared.
